In 1995, Vega Enterprises was the 34th largest Hispanic-owned business in
the United States and the number one minority owned business in Nevada.
In January 19, 1996, Mr. Vega was appointed Honorary Consul of Mexico in
Las Vegas, by the Honorable Senor Raul Lopez, Consul General of Mexico.
As a Honorary Consul, Ray Vega is granted much of the same powers as the
Mexican Consulate General in San Bernardino, California, including
assisting Americans in processing Visa papers to travel to Mexico,
performing ombudsman duties for Mexican nationals in Las Vegas and
pursuing greater business, social, educational, and cultural exchanges
between the U.S. and Mexico.
