YOUR COMMUNITY NEEDS YOU......
BECOME A DOCTOR,
YOU CAN DO IT,
AT THE UNIVERSITY OF UTAH SCHOOL OF
MEDICINE.
WE NEED MORE MINORITY PHYSICIANS:
Today, although there is one physician for every 290 non-minority Americans, there is only:
1 Hispanic physician for every 770 Hispanics.
1 Native American physician for every 2,000 Native Americans and
1 African American physician for every 1,400 African Americans.
You can help change these numbers.
As a minority physician you'll provide an extraordinary service. You can draw on your culture and traditions to improve health care for your community. As a physician, you'll help save lives.
You'll be well prepared for a medical career if you:
Talk to your family doctor... and talk to your science and math teachers and your counselors. Ask them to help you choose classes that will help you prepare for a career in medicine.
