MISSION STATEMENT:
- The mission of SERVICIOS DE LA RAZA is to provide and advocate
comprehensive, culturally relevant human services. Primarily but not
limited to the Spanish speaking population.
SERVICES FOR THE PEOPLE:
- SERVICIOS DE LA RAZA, established in 1972 is a private non-profit State Licensed, bilingual human services organization.
- SERVICIOS DE LA RAZA is an independant community organization and is governed by the policies developed by its 15 Member Board of Directors.
- Servicios utilizes the innovative strategy of culturally relevant programs in concert with our comprehensive service delivery approach, effectively addressing the problems of the Chicano/Latino population.
BASIC EMERGENCY SERVICES:
- This component is vital to the Agency's image as a one stop,
multi-purpose community center and to its ability to provide
comphrehensive services to clients. The pervasive theme of this component
is the provision of basic assistance to help families gain self
sufficiency. Servicios has also established additional resources and
support systems necessary to provide families with ability to resolve
social and economic problems. Some of the basic services provides are the
following:
- Daily Bread Line.
- Emergency food and clothing.
- Utility and rental information and referral.
- Client advocacy (brokerage, services linking clients with needed resources.
- Supportive social services.
- Client advocacy and translation.
- Consumer Education.
- Housing and Legal Referral.
CHILDREN, YOUTH AND FAMILIES:
- SERVICIOS DE LA RAZA, INC., respects every individuals definition of family and is committed to ensuring family preservation among its clientele. We respect the individuality of our clients as well as the role that culture plays in family matters. Our strategy of comphrehensive services is proven to be the most effective approach for addressing multiple problems affecting the Chicano/Latino Families of today. Some of family services provided are the following:
- Case Management.
- Family Mental Health Counseling.
- Child and Adolescent Mental Health Counseling.
- Parenting classes(voluntary or court mandated.)
- Individual Therapy.
- Group Family Counseling.
- Crisis counseling.
- SERVICOS DE LA RAZA, INC., provides a host of other social services programs such as the Youth Intervention; Summer Youth Employment Project; and the Academic Career Enhancement Program.
- Escuela Tlatelolco; The main thrust of the this School is to instill academic proficiency, cultural pride, confidence and develop leadership among youth who are at-risk or unable to continue for whatever reason in public-sector educational systems;
- Additional social programs include the Adult Outpatient Mental Health Treatment and Support Program, Case Management Services, the Domestic Violence Program, as well as numerous other diverse educational, social, and economic support projects.
